New Humpbacks of Hawaii Exhibit Opens

Back to Things To Do

Maui Ocean Center’s much anticipated “Humpbacks of Hawai’i” sphere and exhibit was on full display during the aquarium’s festive VIP Opening Party on February 2, where we got a sneak peek at what all the buzz has been about.

During the sphere’s 3D film, visitors get a chance to experience a one-of-a-kind encounter with Maui’s humpback whales in the ocean surrounding Maui, and feel what it’s like to be up close with these gentle giants of the sea.

The immersive exhibit hall showcases the whales’ epic journey from Alaska to Maui’s warm waters, one of the longest known mammal migrations.

The ‘Humpbacks of Hawaii’ sphere and exhibit opens to the public beginning February 10. Take a look at the video update from the VIP party, where we talked with Maui Ocean Center General Manager Tapani Vuori about the new exhibit and sphere.
